AIT Forms Technology Partnership with Indigo Biosystems
Indianapolis – Indigo Biosystems and AIT Laboratories are pleased to announce a new partnership between the two Indianapolis-based companies.
AIT Laboratories, a leading independent reference laboratory specializing in compliance monitoring, forensics, clinical, and pharmaceutical testing, is implementing the use of Indigo’s ASCENT™ technology to improve its chromatographic data analysis and review processes. AIT will be the first laboratory in the nation to use Indigo’s proprietary approach to automated chromatographic review in commercial operations.
In its daily operations, AIT uses high-performance LC/MS/MS instruments to test thousands of blood and urine samples for the purpose of measuring concentrations of various substances, including prescription drugs, illicit drugs, and metabolites. The measurement, analysis, and review process involves a series of quantitative determinations carried out within carefully defined quality rules.
Indigo’s expert system allows AIT to automate an important segment of the process, with the benefits of reduced costs, faster turnaround times, and enhanced quality. AIT expects the new technology to increase its overall production capacity and free up its scientists to focus on cases requiring more attention and review.
“AIT has a long history of pioneering new technologies in our laboratory,” said Ron Thieme, Ph.D., vice president and chief information officer for AIT Laboratories. “We are excited about the partnership with Indigo Biosystems to implement ASCENT™. This system is a game changer for how AIT uses and manages laboratory data and will allow us to increase quality and efficiency. This is yet another way we are able to continue providing the highest standard of service to our customers.”
Randy Julian, president of Indigo Biosystems, said, “We are excited about working with AIT Laboratories. AIT is an innovator and leader in providing superior laboratory services in the sciences of pharmacology and toxicology for the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and forensic professions. It is a great pleasure to partner with them.”
