SRU Biosystems Expands Sales Team and Appoints New Director of Cell Biology

WOBURN, Mass.–SRU Biosystems, a leader in label-free technologies, today announced that the Company has expanded its sales team with the addition of Senior Sales Executives Jane Clark and Rick Loomis to its North American division. Further, the Company announced the appointment of Steve Shamah, Ph.D., as its new Director of Cell Biology and member of the SRU management team.

“Coinciding with recent product introductions for the academic and uHTS markets, demand has significantly increased for the SRU BIND label-free technology,” said Mann Shoffner, Director of Sales and Marketing. “Further, there has been expanded interest in our platform for cell-based assays, including primary screening for uHTS in a 1536-well format. To meet this ramp, we have hired two outstanding sales executives to grow our outreach into North America. Both Jane and Rick have extensive sales and managerial experience in laboratory instrumentation, and we look forward to their guidance and leadership as we turn this next transition of expanded market penetration for SRU. Further, these hires allow us to further focus our efforts in Europe, where we have seen strong demand for the BIND technology.”

Jane Clark was most recently Senior Sales executive with VisEn Medical, Inc., and prior to that she held sales positions at Amaxa, Inc., Affymetrix, Inc., and Life Technologies, Inc. Rick Loomis most recently was Director, Industrial Sales at Lonza, and prior to that held sales and managerial positions at Genetix, Acea, and Perkin Elmer. Steve Shamah, Ph.D., was most recently Senior Principal Investigator at Archemix, Inc., and prior to that worked in the HTS group at Hydra Biosciences, Inc., and the cell biology group at Phylos, Inc.
