XRF to acquire Coltide’s x-ray fluorescence drift monitors business
MELBOURNE-based XRF will acquire the Coltide x-ray fluorescence (XRF) Drift Monitors business.
Coltide is an Adelaide-based manufacturer and supplier of x-ray fluorescence drift monitors, which are used by mining companies and research organisations who wish to establish an accurate calibration for a series of elements on their x-ray spectrometers.
Coltide was founded by Dr Keith Norrish, a pioneer of wavelength dispersive x-ray spectrometry for analysing minerals.
Coltide’s drift monitors manufacturing operations are being transferred to XRF’s facility in Melbourne. According to the companies, the specific manufacturing process and formulae ensure the products are high quality and have an extended life.
XRF will continue with the full range of Coltide products and regular supply is expected to be established in the next few weeks.
