ROMAINVILLE, France–Parc Biocitech — Cellectis bioresearch, a subsidiary of the genome engineering company Cellectis SA (Paris:ALCLS), announced today that it has launched cGPS® Custom, a new line of kits for targeted gene integration in native cell lines. This is a breakthrough technology that will enable life science researchers to customize their own cell lines.

The cGPS® Custom line has been developed by leveraging a major innovation from Cellectis SA: modified-specificity meganucleases. Meganucleases are “DNA scissors” capable of recognizing and cutting a single genomic site with a high degree of accuracy. Each cGPS® Custom kit contains a modified-specificity meganuclease for integrating a gene of interest at a unique, native genomic site in a given cell line. This first product in the cGPS® Custom line enables the generation of stable CHO-K1 clones within a month and has a targeted integration rate of over 90%. In addition, cGPS® Custom kits will allow researchers to continue using their existing cell lines, thus maximizing prior experience.
