Chromatide announces partnership with Kromasil® to develop improved chromatography media for chiral purification
Chromatide, a provider of innovative polymer technologies designed to improve and enhance pharmaceutical and chemical production and processes, and Separation Product´s Kromasil®, a brand of Akzo Nobel, today announced that they have set up a research collaboration. The aim of the collaboration is to develop and bring to market improved silica-based high performance liquid chromatography media, with particular emphasis in the area of chiral purification.
This collaboration combines Chromatide’s unique skills and experience in the area of polymer synthesis for use in a range of applications including synthesis and chromatography, with Akzo Nobel expertise in the business of developing, producing and marketing materials for use in separation techniques.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr Don Wellings, Chromatide’s CSO, said, “We are delighted to be working alongside Akzo Nobel, a company with such a strong, global reputation in the specialty chemicals market”. He added, “This collaboration allows us to rapidly apply our expertise in developing polymers for use in chromatographic techniques with the knowledge that products resulting from this collaboration will be marketed very quickly via Akzo Nobel´s well established routes”.
