BioSurplus Hires Tom Paoletti as San Diego Service Manager

SAN DIEGO –– BioSurplus announced today that it has hired veteran lab equipment service engineer Tom Paoletti as manager of its San Diego service department. With over 25 years of experience servicing high-end life science research instrumentation, as well as managing service teams for original equipment manufacturers, Tom will be a key player in BioSurplus’ expanding Service & Repair division.

Before joining BioSurplus, Tom spent 26 years at Applied Biosystems/Life Technologies as a district service manager in Eastern Canada, Upstate New York and Eastern Massachusetts, where he specialized in DNA sequencers, PCR instrumentation, protein sequencers, peptide synthesizers and mass spectrometry instruments including triple quads, TOFs and traps. He continued in the position at AB Sciex after Life Technologies sold its mass spectrometry business in 2009.

“We are very proud of the highly skilled and experienced engineers that make up the BioSurplus Service & Repair team,” said Preston Plumb, BioSurplus VP, Service & Repair. “Tom’s extensive experience with sophisticated equipment, as well as his years as a leader, makes him the perfect candidate to manage our San Diego team as we continue to grow.”
