ATCC Names New President, Dr. Brian Pollok
Manassas, Va. – ATCC, the premier biological materials resource and standards organization, today announced the appointment of its next President, Dr. Brian A. Pollok, former Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Global Research and Development for Life Technologies Corporation, Carlsbad, CA. Dr. Raymond H. Cypess, Executive CEO and Chairman of the Board, will continue to provide leadership and support during the transitional period.
Dr. Pollok’s impressive career includes Vice President of R&D with Invitrogen’s Discovery Sciences in Madison, Wisconsin; Senior Vice President of Research and Co-Founder of Ansata Therapeutics, Inc., La Jolla, CA; Vice President of Discovery Research at Aurora Biosciences/Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc., San Diego, CA; Senior Research Investigator for Pfizer, Groton, CT; and Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Pollok received his B.A. in biology and chemistry from the University of Virginia; his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham; and he completed his postdoctoral fellowship while at the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
