Cambridge, MA – Ceiba Solutions, a software development and IT services company specializing in life sciences, announced today that it has once again added life sciences expertise to its team, with the company’s newest hire, Andy Sontag. A 20-year veteran in the life sciences industry, Andy will serve as Ceiba’s Vice President of Life Science Business Development.

Andy, a veteran in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, is a healthcare leader with a strong record of delivering tangible business results through operational leadership, P&L management, process improvement and technology strategy. During his career, Andy has been a part of the changing pharmaceutical industry and medical device industry and has been involved in, or actively led many innovative changes to the business processes through technological change.

As Vice President of Life Science Business Development, Andy will use his knowledge and expertise to guide the sales strategy and engage with Life Science customers in defining important IT solutions needed in this industry. Andy’s grasp of the business aids his work in authoring components of the ITIL v3 guidebook for Life Science, due to be published this April. The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a standard for best practices.

Prior to joining Ceiba, he was most recently the Senior Vice President of Life Sciences for Court Square Group, a Life Sciences IT Consulting Company. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Global Business Operations for Clinical Sciences at Boston Scientific with overall responsibility for business and operations in Boston Scientific’s Clinical, Regulatory and Preclinical areas. He also worked at AstraZeneca for over fourteen years where he implemented over eighty computer systems across pharmaceutical processes including drug development, clinical, quality, supply chain, finance, distribution and regulatory.

This follows a December announcement of Ceiba’s expansion of its IT consulting team with the addition of 4 PHD-level resources from the Life Science and bioinformatics software industry.

“Ceiba continues to seek out the best and the brightest in the Life Science industry so that we can extend our core competencies across the life science field, through expertise and relationships,” said Lindsay Rewcastle, Ceiba Solutions CEO. “We welcome Andy to the team and we look forward to working with him, offering our clients unique and innovative solutions for life sciences.”
