HighRes Biosolutions Selected as Finalist for 2012 New England Innovation Awards

The Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) announced that HighRes Biosolutions is a finalist for the 2012 New England Innovation Awards, which are sponsored in part by Mass High Tech and Boston Business Journal. HighRes is one of only 20 companies out of 268 nominees throughout New England to be selected.

HighRes Biosolutions was founded seven years ago with the aim of creating cutting-edge robotic systems, devices and consumables for life sciences research and drug discovery. The company has placed its patented flexible automated systems at numerous major pharmaceutical companies and academic research labs.

Innovation is at the heart of economic prosperity and SBANE continues to recognize those companies that have transformed their innovative ideas into a product or service that delivers proven value to customers. Former winners come from varying fields such as technology, manufacturing, service (profit and non-profit), and retail/distribution. Winners include notable companies such as Genzyme, iRobot, Staples, PictureTel, Ben & Jerry’s, Direct Tire, Nantucket Nectars, Imagitas!, and Aurora Imaging Technology.

“HighRes Biosolutions is honored to be nominated two years in a row for this award,” said Lou Guarracina, President and Co-founder of HighRes. “We started HighRes because we believed that our ideas and technology could accelerate the hunt for cures for many diseases. That we now count most of the big pharmas and major academic labs among our customers is really exciting. What’s even more exciting is that this is only the beginning for us as we continue developing new technologies and finding new areas of research and health care to which we can apply our technologies in order to improve people’s lives.”

Winners and finalists of this prestigious award will be honored at the “Evening of Innovation” Gala Dinner on May 10, 2012 at the Westin Hotel, Waltham, MA. The keynote speaker for this Gala Dinner is David Friend, Chairman and CEO, Carbonite.
