Scharlau Science Group, announces the acquisition of all the shares of the distribution company Bibby Scientific Italy from the firm Nova Capital Management Ltd.

Nova Capital Management Ltd., a firm specialized in the sales-purchases of companies, acquired in 2007 the South African scientific division Barlow World Group. One of the companies belonging to the scientific group was Bibby Scientific Italy.

Bibby Scientific Italia, based in Milan, is responsible for the Italian market for the distribution of the prestigious brands as STERILIN, PYREX, AZLON as well as the entire company catalogue of Bibby Scientific Instruments (JENWAY, STUART, TECHNE), among others. It has a turnover of € 2.8 million, a workforce of 12 people and a network of sales agents throughout the country.

Scharlau Science Group (SSG) is the owner of Scharlab,S.L.. Founded in Spain in 1947, it manufactures chemical reagents and culture media exported to over 110 countries. In the Spanish market, is presented to its customers as a leader in the distribution of reagents, culture media, consumables and small laboratory instrumentation

With this acquisition SCG reaffirms its internationalization strategy by establishing a new distribution platform for the Italian market.

As a result of the acquisition, the company will have a wider portfolio of products and will become a much more attractive supplier to current and potential customers.
