About Chromatan
Chromatan is a company based in State College, PA. The company’s Continuous Countercurrent Tangential Chromatography (CCTC) is a newly patented technology for purification of biologics. In contrast to conventional column chromatography, where the resin particles are packed in a fixed bed column, CCTC utilizes the resin in a slurry form
which flows through a series of static mixers and hollow fiber membrane modules. CCTC is operated as a continuous process, with all of the chromatographic operations such as binding, washing, elution and stripping performed simultaneously. The operation increases throughput 5 to 10-fold when compared to conventional columns enabling high resin cycling in a single batch. CCTC makes single-use capture practical and introduces significant cost savings of up to 65 percent to the end user.
