INO and ABB Bomem Inc. sign a partnership agreement

QUEBEC CITY, April 15 /CNW Telbec/ – INO (National Optics Institute) and

ABB Bomem Inc. announce the signing of a partnership agreement regarding INO’s

infrared microbolometric technology for the aerospace sector.

Under this agreement, ABB Bomem and INO will combine their respective

expertise and know-how in space instrumentation and infrared microbolometric

sensors in order to develop instruments for future use in space missions.

Among other things, these devices can be integrated into infrared radiometric

imaging systems aboard satellites used to observe earth or explore other

planets.

ABB Bomem specializes in cutting edge remote sensing applications and is

a global standard in space spectrometry. INO and ABB work with some of the

same business partners–including NASA and Canadian and European space

agencies. This agreement will give both companies access to a broader

technological infrastructure which goes beyond each company’s existing

technological portfolios, allowing them to extend their activities in the

field of technology and instruments used in space.

“We are very pleased with the signing of this agreement, which cements

the collaboration between ABB Bomem and INO. This concrete partnership will

contribute to the growth of INO in the fields of bolometric technology and

space technology,” stated INO president and CEO Jean-Yves Roy.

“By combining our respective expertise and know-how, we can expand the

spectrum of our possibilities and offer our clients a wider range of services.

This INO and ABB Bomem partnership places both our companies in a winning

position since it will greatly increase the number of business opportunities,”

added ABB Bomem Inc. vice president and CEO Jean-René Roy.
