RainDance Technologies Strengthens Leadership Team with Key Appointments

Richard H. Lussier Appointed Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Ingrid Choupin Named Managing Director, European Sales and Marketing

LEXINGTON, Mass. – RainDance Technologies Inc., a private company pioneering microdroplet-based technologies for single-molecule and single-cell analysis, today announced that it has expanded its leadership team with the appointments of Richard H. Lussier as Vice President of Worldwide Sales, and Ingrid Choupin as Managing Director of European Sales and Marketing.

As VP of Worldwide Sales, Richard Lussier will be responsible for advancing RainDance’s customer relationships and growth into all research and clinical markets that the company serves globally. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience in life science sales and commercial operations. Mr. Lussier joins RainDance from Cell Biosciences where he was the Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Service. His prior experience includes leadership positions building out the field sales, service and support organizations at Solexa (now part of Illumina Inc.), Fluidigm, as well as nearly 15 years in the Applera businesses, Applied Biosystems (now part of Life Technologies) and Celera Genomics. During his tenure at Applied Biosystems, Mr. Lussier served as President and General Manager of the company’s Japanese subsidiary. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Rhode Island College and an M.B.A. from The Fox School of Business at Temple University.

Ingrid Choupin joins RainDance as Managing Director of European Sales and Marketing. Ms. Choupin brings more than 18 years of sales and strategic marketing experience in life science tools and diagnostics products. She will be responsible for growing RainDance’s commercial business across the European continent. In her most recent position as Associate Director of Global Sales and Strategy Development at Affymetrix, she led the corporate strategy to re-engineer the company’s microarray platform to drive growth in new markets. Prior to joining Affymetrix in 2002, Ms. Choupin served in various sales and management positions at Invitrogen, now part of Life Technologies. Ms. Choupin holds a Masters of Biochemistry from the Université d’Orsay in Paris and a marketing management degree from the Institut Superieur De Gestion, also in Paris. Ms. Choupin will be based outside of Paris, France.
