NuGEN Announces 2012 Genomics Grant Challenge
SAN CARLOS, Calif.– NuGEN Technologies, Inc., a market leader in the development of sample preparation solutions for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Genomic Profiling applications, announced the NuGEN 2012 Genomics Grant Challenge earlier this week.
NuGEN’s focus has always been on providing novel sample preparation solutions to enable research,” said Alan Dance, VP of Marketing at NuGEN. “We also recognize that securing sufficient funding for key research studies is a critical and on-going challenge for scientists, and therefore in an effort to provide solutions to life science researchers on another level, we are offering the 2012 Genomics Grant Challenge Award.”
This is the second Genomics Grant Challenge that NuGEN has offered to the scientific community, and strong participation is expected. “In a climate of economic uncertainty, lack of funding poses significant obstacles for breakthrough research and discovery,” commented Elizabeth Hutt, CEO of NuGEN. “We are pleased to be able to offer this form of direct funding support as affirmation of our commitment to our customers and to the advancement of life science research.”
NuGEN is accepting non-confidential study proposals until August 15, 2012, and innovative submissions are encouraged. After review by a scientific committee, the winning proposal will be selected and winner notified on September 14, 2012. The 2012 Genomics Grant Challenge Award recipient will receive up to $10,000 worth of NuGEN® reagents for NGS studies.
