LGC Standards strengthens its position in Asia with first China office
Championing measurement science and quality control in the Chinese analytical market
LGC Standards has opened its first office in Beijing, China, signalling a milestone in the company’s international development. The new office will enable the company to bring its range of laboratory quality products and services to the Chinese market.
LGC Standards provides a range of products and services for measurement and laboratory control encompassing reference material distribution and proficiency testing, together with the production of pharmaceutical impurities and custom synthesis. For the first time the company will be able to support Chinese laboratories directly by offering logistical and technical advice in their local language.
The new office will be managed by Dr Chen Hong, who has over 10 years’ experience in major international companies. Dr Chen Hong obtained her degrees in analytical chemistry and biochemistry fields, and her PhD was obtained from the University of Tokyo in Japan. Mr Frank Lai also joins the company as a pharmaceutical specialist, with a bachelor’s degree from Shenyang pharmaceutical University, China and over seven years’ experience in pharmaceutical laboratories and industry.

Our Chinese team will focus on supplying laboratories in the pharmaceutical, environmental, food, industrial and forensic sectors with reference materials and proficiency testing schemes to support laboratory quality.”
