GenomeQuest Announces On-Demand Informatics Solution for Next-Generation Sequencing Research

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.–GenomeQuest, Inc., the leader in sequence informatics, today announced the launch of its On-Demand Informatics Solution. The solution allows researchers to securely access GenomeQuest’s massive bio-medical compute cloud resources to transform raw next-generation sequencing data into highly enriched, queryable sequence databases for further sequence analysis in the GenomeQuest™ web application. Ronald Ranauro, President and CEO of GenomeQuest, said, “On-Demand Informatics allows scientists to access massive bioinformatics resources the day after the sequencing run completes. More importantly, users get access to the GenomeQuest web application to make discoveries and share findings with colleagues.” The solution combines bioinformatics consultation to secure the customer’s data and confirm the bioinformatics parameters with a fully automated execution of workflow computations and a subscription to GenomeQuest’s data management portal. “In our experience with early-access customers,” added Ranauro, “we learned no two next-generation sequencing studies are identical; there is a need for some up-front human intervention. However, we are automating the entire process from sequencer output to assembled and annotated scientific information.” Applications enabled by the solution include in-silico purification of next-generation sequencing samples, transcript discovery, gene expression, gene regulation and variant detection studies. Final data remains available within GenomeQuest, can be output into statistical reports, or can be conveniently downloaded into a range of third-party software tools.
