Characterization of Pharmaceuticals, Large Sample Volumes

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIF. – Beckman Coulter, Inc. Particle Characterization announces a collaboration agreement with Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based ImmunoSite Technologies, in which Beckman Coulter will refer customers seeking particle characterization services to ImmunoSite and ImmunoSite will perform those services using Beckman Coulter particle characterization instrumentation.

“This agreement allows us to address the growing need for Good Laboratory Practice contract lab services from our pharmaceutical customers, while allowing our in-house lab to continue the development of novel applications and our technical database,” said Tony Boova, group manager at Beckman Coulter. “ImmunoSite’s GLP status was particularly important, as it addresses customer requirements for regulatory compliance and auditing.”

As part of the collaboration, Beckman Coulter offers customers technological training, applications support and expert data analysis, while ImmunoSite offers additional chemical and biological analytical services and the ability to analyze large numbers of samples.

“The collaboration allows the particle characterization team to expand the range of services offered to customers,” said Elsa Burgess, director of commercial operations with Beckman Coulter. “We’re happy to be working with a company that has ImmunoSite’s reputation for excellence in pharmaceutical characterization.”

Wade Bolton, CEO of ImmunoSite said, “Having long admired Beckman Coulter’s expertise in particle characterization, we’re excited about the abilities of their instruments to help us solve our customers’ complex problems. Particle characterization testing will be an important adjunct to our current pharma services in immune monitoring and surveillance.”
