Maine Manufacturing Buys Additional GE Lines
The acquired product lines were being manufactured by Maine Manufacturing for GE, according to the Bangor Daily News. This will be the first product line that Maine Manufacturing will sell directly, in addition to serving as a contract manufacturer for GE. Maine Manufacturing has 165 employees.
Sanford, ME 1/3/13—Maine Manufacturing has acquired a number of life science product lines from GE Healthcare. These product lines consist of microbiological monitors, liquid growth media, the ZapCap brand bottle-top filtration units and the Centrex brand centrifugal filers. “The addition of these products fits very nicely with our recently announced acquisition of the filter and membrane business of GE Osmonics,” stated Maine Manufacturing President Bill Emhiser (see IBO 12/15/12). “As we are doing with the GE Osmonics laboratory products, the team at Maine Manufacturing plans to expand both customer and applications support.”
