VWR Buys BioExpress

BioExpress will continue to operate as an independent entity. The company, which is based in Utah, has 90 employees according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. This is VWR’s fourth acquisition this year.

Radnor, PA 6/1/11—VWR International has purchased BioExpress, a lab product distributor serving the education, biotechnology and government markets and the manufacturer of the GeneMate brand. Financial details were not disclosed. “Acquiring BioExpress supports VWR’s overall growth strategy by expanding customer relationships and strengthening VWR’s position in key education and government market segments,” stated Matt Malenfant, VWR’s senior vice president and president of North America, Lab Business.
