Randor, PA 9/2/11—VWR International has acquired INTERNATIONAL P.B.I., an Italian distributor of laboratory supplies and services, with expertise in microbiology. Financial details were not disclosed. The company represents several brands as well as its own and serves many customer segments, including pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, biotechnology, clinical and education. “INTERNATIONAL P.B.I.’s business and strong technical capabilities are a great complement to VWR’s European operations, allowing us to expand our operations in Italy and deliver the best of both companies to our customers,” commented Manuel Brocke-Benz, VWR senior vice president and managing director of Europe.
