In February, Chromatotec opened a new office in Beijing, China.

In 2012, revenue for MKS Instruments Analytical Solutions Group grew 2.4% to $62.8 million, or 10% of sales.

In February, MKS Instruments named Gerald Colella president and COO. He previously served as vice president and COO.

SensoTech opened a US subsidiary in February, in Wayne, New Jersey.

Sartorius Stedim Biotech entered into a sales and development partnership with Aber Instruments in February. Sartorius will exclusively market and distribute Aber’s single-use sensor technology for the biopharmaceutical market. Sartorius will manufacture the sensors under license, integrate them into single-use bioreactors and dual-brand them.

In 2012, JUMO’s sales totaled more than €205 million ($263 million). JUMO Germany revenue was flat at €152 million ($195 million). International sales grew 1.5%. The company aims to increase sales 7% in 2013.

In March, Applikon Biotechnology agreed to acquire the biotechnology portfolio of HaloteC Instruments, a provider of instruments and software solutions.

In March, Servomex, a Spectris company, announced a technology partnership with Precision to incorporate Precision’s Tunable Filter Spectrometer technology into its gas analysis solutions for the hydrocarbon processing market.

Endress+Hauser announced that Matthias Altendorf, managing director of the company’s largest plant, will succeed Klaus Endress as CEO, effective January 2014.

Product Introductions

In January, Applied Instrument Technologies launched the new RPM Series multichannel Raman analyzer, capable of interfacing up to 12 probes. The RPM 785 is a process analyzer configured for hazardous area environments. The RPM MD is a general purpose Raman analyzer configured for lab or control room rackmount applications.

In February, Stratophase introduced the Ranger Solo sensor for inclusion in single-use bioreactors for real time, in-line bioprocess feeding control.

ABB Measurement Products introduced the new TALYS ASP500 Series, a fiber optics–based FT-NIR analyzer for in-line monitoring and control of batch or continuous processes. It features an embedded processor.

Xylem’s OI Analytical brand launched in March the CNSolution 9310, an on-line cyanide analyzer for gold milling operations. It measures available cyanide in precious metal leaching solutions using a gas-diffusion amperometry technique.

In March, Precisive introduced the certified Precisive 5 Tunable Filter Spectroscopy platform for unattended hydrocarbon process and natural gas analysis.
