Agilent BAM President to Retire and New Stratagene Head Announced

Mr. van Ingen led the BAM (Life Science and Chemical Analysis) Division through its expansion into life science technologies and its financial success of recent years (see page 9). Asked about Mr. van Ingen’s replacement, an Agilent representative told IBO that he will not be replaced and that “Agilent will be restructuring the Bio-Analytical organization during the next few months.” An announcement about the changes will be made within the next few months, according to Agilent.

Santa Clara, CA 8/23/07; 8/27/07—Agilent Technologies has announced that Chris van Ingen, president of its Bio-Analytical Measurement business (BAM), will retire on October 31. “I leave Agilent with a great sense of accomplishment,” stated Mr. van Ingen. “The past few years have been very exciting ones for us, with ongoing success in our current markets as well as the pursuit of opportunities in new areas. I look forward to watching as the next chapter in this segment unfolds.” Mr. van Ingen joined Agilent in 1977 and was promoted to president of BAM in 2001 (see IBO 5/15/01). He is 61 years old. Agilent has also announced the appointment of William Molnar as vice president and general manager of its Stratagene Division, of which Agilent completed its acquisition in June (see IBO 4/15/07).
