A report submitted to the US Congress by the Office of Science and Technology Policy details spending on R&D infrastructure. In 2013, $1,710 million was spent on construction of nondefense facilities and capital equipment. A 37.4% increase is estimated for 2014 spending for a total of $2,350 million. However, infrastructure spending for the NIH is expected to decrease 26.8% to $136 million, but for the EPA and National Institute of Science and Technology, it will remain unchanged. Nondefense DOE facilities and equipment spending is projected to rise 41.2% to $679 million. Infrastructure spending for the NSF is estimated to rise 44.6% to $538 million, and for the Department of Agriculture, it is projected to grow 6.4% to $83 million.
