Teledyne Instruments Acquires Photon Machines
Based in Montana, PMI has around 10 employees, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, and will remain in Montana.
Thousand Oaks, CA 3/31/14—Teledyne Instruments, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies, has acquired Photon Machines (PMI) for an undisclosed amount. PMI designs and manufactures laser-based sample-introduction equipment for laboratory instruments, including laser-ablation systems. “The acquisition of Photon Machines naturally complements our acquisition of Teledyne CETAC in August 2013 [see IBO 8/31/13],” said Teledyne Chairman, President and CEO Robert Mehrabian. “Since 2010, PMI and CETAC have partnered to develop, market and service laser-ablation systems. We are pleased to offer our customers a more complete product portfolio with the technology, sales and service under common ownership.”
