Techne Partners with Thermo
Techne stated on its quarterly conference call that the deal is part of a strategy to increase sales to academia. R&D Systems products include proteins and immunoassays, Tocris supplies chemical reagents for life science research and Boston Biochem provides ubiquitin-related research products.
Minneapolis, MN 1/31/14—Techne, a manufacturer of biotechnology products and hematology calibrators and controls, has announced a three-year agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific. Thermo will distribute Techne’s R&D Systems, Tocris and Boston Biochem brand catalog products in the US and Canada through its Fisher Scientific customer channel. Techne will be a Thermo preferred supplier but will continue to market the products and support its existing customers. Techne stated that the agreement will expose its products to a greater number of academic, government and industrial customers.
