Illumina and Bio-Rad Partner
The system will employ a modified version of Bio-Rad’s QX200 Droplet Digital PCR System. At the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, Illumina Chairman and CEO Jay Flatley gave details of the solution, stating that it will be able to prepare 10,000 single cells at a cost of $1 per cell. Bio-Rad will sell the instrument, and Illumina will sell all the consumables in a single kit.
Hercules, CA & San Diego, CA 1/11/16—Bio-Rad Laboratories have announced an exclusive partnership to develop a comprehensive solution for single-cell genomics.
