Neogen Buys Microbiology-Automation Firm
BioLumix will be consolidated with Neogen’s Soleris technology, which is used to detect food-spoilage organisms in the food industry and nutraceutical market.
Lansing, MI 10/1/14—Neogen, a supplier of products for food and animal safety, has acquired BioLumix for an undisclosed amount. Based in Michigan, BioLumix manufactures and markets automated systems for the detection of microbial contaminants. “The combination also settles litigation of several years between the two companies and benefits existing customers of both companies moving forward,” stated Neogen CEO and Chairman James Herbert.
