Radnor, PA 4/27/12—VWR International has agreed to acquire basan Germany, a distributor of products and related services for clean rooms in Europe and Southeast Asia. Financial details were not disclosed. The company also distributes its own basan brand of consumables. “Basan’s well-established reputation in cleanroom products and services combined with their strong product and application expertise extends VWR’s capabilities in both Europe and SE Asia,” said Manuel Brocke-Benz, VWR senior vice president and managing director of Europe. Industries served by basan include microelectronics, semiconductor, biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceuticals and automotives. Basan has subsidiaries and operations in the Netherlands, France, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam.
