New President for Merck Millipore
From 2003 to 2011, Mr. Yates was global head of Business Development and Licensing at Roche. He is a 22-year veteran of Roche and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
Darmstadt, Germany 8/26/11—Merck KGaA has named Robert Yates president of its Merck Millipore division effective September 1. He will report to Bernd Reckmann, who is responsible for Merck’s Chemicals business sector, of which Merck Millipore is a division. Mr. Reckmann previously led Merck Millipore. He stated that the company appointed a dedicated president for Merck Millipore because the division is entering a new phase of its growth plan. Mr. Yates was appointed the head of Roche’s Life Science business in early 2011 and served as a member of Roche’s Diagnostics Executive Committee.
