London, UK 10/7/14—Diploma, a publicly held supplier of specialized products and services, has acquired 80% of Technopath. Based in Ireland with 40 employees, Technopath supplies biotechnology, clinical-laboratory and medical products in Ireland and the UK. For the year ending August 31, it had sales of £12 million ($19 million = £0.62 = $1). Diploma Chief Executive Bruce Thompson stated that the acquisition “extends the scope of the Group’s Healthcare businesses into the markets of Ireland and the UK, as well as adding important new products and suppliers.” Diploma has put and call options allowing it to acquire the remaining 20% of Technopath over a period of five years.
