Waltham, MA 7/7/08—Thermo Fisher Scientific has acquired Affinity BioReagents, a provider of more than 35,000 reagents for life science research, including antibodies, peptides and proteins, with 2007 revenues of $6 million. Financial details were not provided. “This acquisition enhances our extensive antibody portfolio, which will drive growth as we combine these reagents with our current proteomics offerings to create end-to-end solutions for widely used protein-research applications,” stated Marijn E. Dekkers, president and CEO of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The company will join Thermo’s Analytical Technologies Segment.
