Oxford Instruments Acquires XRF Company

Oxford Instruments told IBO, “[Roentgenanalytik’s] product range of coating thickness measurement instruments is broader than ours and will offer customers a full range to suit their needs. The handheld gauges we offer will be included in this range.” The firm has 25 employees.

Abingdon, England 1/23/14—Oxford Instruments has announced its acquisition of German firm Roentgenanalytik Systeme, a supplier of coating thickness measurement and materials analysis systems using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy. Oxford Instruments stated that the acquisition substantially expands its range of XRF products and that it will make Roentgenanalytik’s headquarters in Taunusstein, Germany, a center of excellence for benchtop XRF. Olaf Neuhausen has been named managing director.
