Endress+Hauser Enters Raman Market with Purchase
The purchase adds Raman technology to Endress+Hauser’s line of technologies for the process analysis of liquids and, more recently, gases (see IBO 6/30/12). Endress+Hauser stated that it expects synergies in sales and service. Endress+Hauser and Rockwell Collins have had a strategic alliance since 2004.
Reinach, Switzerland 8/30/13; Cedar Rapids, IA 8/30/13—Rockwell Collins, a provider of communication and aviation electronic solutions, has sold its Kaiser Optical Systems business to Endress+Hauser, a provider of measurement instrumentation for industrial process engineering, for an undisclosed amount. Kasier supplies spectrographic instrumentation and applied holographic technology, including Raman instrumentation and holographic components. “The Raman technology expands our offering for customers in core industries,” said Endress+Hauser CEO Klaus Endress. The acquisition is expected to close within a few months.
