Rigaku introduced a Smart Sample Loading System for use with its ZSX Primus WD-XRF spectrometer.
Rigaku launched in April the HyPix-3000 2D photon-counting x-ray detector for the SmartLab diffractometer.
In May, Rigaku introduced the BioSAXS-2000 system, an updated version of its 2D Kratky system, for small-angle x-ray scattering of biological samples. It features a new OpticSAXS optic, which captures a larger angle of the x-ray source.
Rigaku released in June the SmartLab 3 multipurpose x-ray diffractometer, featuring software that recognizes installed components and integrates them into data-collection and -analysis methods.
PANalytical released in March the HighScore (Plus) 4.0 software for powder diffraction analysis using XRD. New features include the elimination of previous limits for the number of atoms, peaks, phases or data points and for overlapping peaks.
In June, PANalytical launched an automation option for its Epsilon 3X benchtop ED-XRF spectrometers.
Aurora Biomed introduced in March the TRACE 1800 atomic absorption spectrometer, which features microplating sample-injection technology for detection of elements in as little as 50 µL.
In April, TSI introduced the handheld ChemLite LIBS (laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy) Metal Analyzer. It features a NEMA-3 portable enclosure.
PerkinElmer released in May the Hybrid XLT torch, a sample-introduction component for its Optima 8×00 ICP-OES spectrometer series. It features a ceramic/quartz hybrid design that provides an extended lifetime.
FOSS introduced the Fibertec 8000, a fully automated solution for determination of crude and detergent fiber according to standard reference crucible methods. It can handle up to six samples simultaneously.
XRF Scientific released the xrFuse 2 electrical-fusion instrument, which is designed for smaller labs.
Bruker released the SPECTRAplus software V3 for its S8 Tiger Eco, S8 Tiger, S8 Lion and S8 Dragon WD-XRF systems, featuring a new Loader program with LiveView for seeing the live spectrum and a manual-loading option.
