In December, the Alliance for Nanosystems VLSI, which was formed by the California Institute of Technology and CEA-Leti, launched Analytical Pixels. The company will design, manufacture and bring to market GC systems based on nanoelectromechanical system sensors.

Product Introductions

In October, Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced the TraceGOLD GC Column with Safe Guard, which combines an analytical GC column with a built-in guard column.

Bruker launched the SHS-40 Automated Headspace Sampler in October for its GC and GC/MS product lines. It can be configured in several modes of operation to handle either fixed-volume or press-and-inject methods and features a six-way injector valve.

In October, SGE Analytical Science released a new range of BPX-BIOD GC columns for biodiesel analysis.

Teledyne Tekmar introduced in December the small and economical Versa Automated Headspace System, featuring a 20-position autosampler/single-position platen oven.

Electronic Sensor Technology announced in August an OEM agreement with the California Testing Authority to build a custom, mobile instrument to screen medical cannabis for potency and safety.
