New Kromasil SFC columns for sample analysis and purification

We are pleased to announce the expansion of the Kromasil SFC platform of chromatographic columns to continue our worldwide support for research, discovery and compound isolation with Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC). These Kromasil SFC columns are now shipping in cyano, diol, silica, 2-ethylpyridine and organo-silane chemistries to give users more options to separate and purify a wide range of substances, from non-polar to strongly polar compounds, including small synthetic molecules and peptides.

Because of its use of supercritical carbon dioxide as the major component in the mobile phase, SFC greatly reduces the need of organic solvents compared to analytical high performance liquid chromatography. Preparative chromatographers have also adopted SFC as the fractions collected are evaporated at record time, allowing improved turnaround times as most of the solvent is carbon dioxide. SFC is consequently considered as the green technology of the chromatography world.

The Kromasil SFC columns are based on the trusted, high performance, state-of-the-art spherical Kromasil silica, assuring a second-to-none product of reliable and reproducible quality, giving peace of mind to chromatographers in the industry.

Based on 100 Å pore size, 2.5 and 5 μm particles, the Kromasil SFC columns come in a wide variety of formats, tailor-made for users to carry out fast analytical separations, impurity isolation as well as purification of APIs. These columns are supplied in both 3 and 4.6 mm i.d. for analysis and 10 to 30 mm i.d. for preparative chromatography.

Endorsed by 30 years of stationary phase manufacturing and packing expertise, Kromasil, a brand of AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals, continues to be the family of performance products delivered to customers in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, clinical and environmental industries.
