Agilent Investigates Employees in China

Bio-Rad Laboratories (see IBO 5/15/10, 4/20/13) and Bruker (see IBO 8/15/11, 3/15/12) also conducted internal investigations related to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in China, which led to new internal controls at both firms. SEC and Department of Justice investigations are ongoing in both cases.

Washington, DC 9/6/13—In its second quarter SEC filing, Agilent Technologies disclosed that it is investigating whether certain employees may have violated its Standards of Business Conduct and other policies in relation to the sale of products through third-party intermediaries in China. The investigation includes a review of compliance by Agilent employees with regard to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Agilent informed the SEC and US Department of Justice of the investigation on September 5.
