Magritek announced in August a merger with ACT GmbH. The companies will jointly manufacture NMR solutions for rock core analysis and materials scanning. The companies have worked together for years. Business Day reported that no cash was exchanged and that ACT will take the Magritek brand name.

In September, Agilent Technologies entered into an exclusive supply agreement with LipoScience to provide the NMR for LipoScience’s Vantera Clinical Analyzer.

Under an October collaboration agreement, users of Magritek’s Ultra-Compact Spectrometer will receive a one year complimentary copy of Mestrelab Research’s Mnova NMR software.

Under a collaborative marketing agreement, Nanalysis will bundle Mestrelab Research’s Mnova NMR software with its NMReady company NMR spectrometer.

Oxford Instruments and Green Imaging Technologies released the GIT App Builder, an all-in-one research interface for core analysis.

Sales/Orders of Note

In October, Bruker received orders for one 395 GHz and two 263 GHz DNP (dynamic nuclear polarization)–NMR systems from three German universities.
