Sigma and Roche Sign Exclusive Agreement

The agreement excludes Roche nucleic acid purification and qPCR instruments and reagents, as well as IVD products, according to documents posted on Sigma’s website. The products will remain Roche branded and packaged, but will be available only through Sigma. The products will remain available from Roche for a three-month transition period.

St. Louis, MO 3/19/15; Pleasanton, CA 3/19/15—Sigma-Aldrich and Roche have signed an exclusive global distribution agreement under which Sigma-Aldrich will distribute Roche’s Biochemical Reagents product portfolio. Roche’s Biochemical Reagents products include kits and enzymes for cellular analysis, proteomics and conventional PCR applications. The transition will take place this year. “This agreement allows us to provide more customers with access to high-quality Roche Biochemical Reagent products through Sigma-Aldrich’s expanded eCommerce and distribution networks,” said Paul Brown, head of Roche Molecular Diagnostics. “In addition, this will provide us the flexibility to devote more resources to our primary focus areas.”
