Brookfield, CT 9/1/15; Boston, MA 8/31/15—Unity Scientific has been purchased by private equity firm Union Park Capital from majority owner Joseph Platano. Unity manufactures NIR, automated wet chemistry and sample preparation instruments for in-line, online and benchtop applications in applied markets, including food and dairy, agriculture and environmental. The acquisition is the first for Union Park’s new Stratera Analytics business. “The Unity brand is our foundation. On that foundation, we will build a family of companies to serve the customers in Unity’s core markets,” stated Morgan Jones, managing partner of Union Park. Doug Evans will continue as president of Unity.
