In March, Zymo Research launched the Pico Methyl-Seq Library Prep and RRHP 5-hmC Library Prep kits for Illumina next-generation sequencing (NGS)–based, whole-genome analysis of 5-mC and 5-hmC in DNA, respectively.

Integrated DNA Technologies released the xGen Inherited Disease and Pan-Cancer Panels for deep sequencing.

Bina Technologies introduced Bina Desktop, a new deployment of its Bina Analysis platform designed for quickly and cost effectively analyzing NGS data.

Knome introduced the knoSYS 25 model to address the needs of labs focused on target panels and fewer numbers of whole exomes and genomes than labs using the knoSYS 100.

Strand Life Sciences released Avadis-NGS Server Editor, which now features streamlined integration with StrandOmics.

In April, Illumina introduced TruSeq RNA Access Library Prep Kits for analyzing RNA isolated from FFPE tissues; the TruSight Myeloid Sequencing Panel for identification of somatic mutations in myeloid malignancies; and BaseSpace Core Apps for the cancer market.

QIAGEN launched the CLC Cancer Research Workbench, which can be modified or personalized.

Appistry introduced Genome Analysis Toolkit 3, featuring enhancements to the speed of analysis of the large sample sets typically associated with observational clinical studies.

Life Technologies released the Oncomine NGS RNA-Seq Gene Expression Browser.

RainDance Technologies introduced the ThunderBolts Cancer Panel for profiling a wide range of tumor samples. It targets 50 cancer genes and has a workflow optimized for Illumina NGS systems.
