Mettler-Toledo Sells SFC Business
Henry Dubina, head of Mettler-Toledo’s AutoChem division, told IBO, “We strongly believe that the SFC market continues to represent an exciting opportunity. The combination of Berger SFC and Thar Instruments will result in a fully integrated SFC instrument company that will have the necessary critical mass to further penetrate the rapidly developing analysis and purification market, while providing competent support and service to customers around the world.”
Pittsburgh, PA 7/2/07—Mettler-Toledo has sold its Berger SFC (Supercritical Fluid Chromatography) division to Thar Technologies for an undisclosed amount. “The combination of Berger SFC and Thar Instruments will result in a fully integrated SFC instrumentation company that will have the necessary critical mass to further penetrate the rapidly developing analysis and purification market, while providing competent support and service to customers around the world,” stated Dr. Lalit Chordia, CEO of Thar Technologies. Mettler-Toledo purchased the company in 2000 (see IBO 11/15/00).
