Agilent Takes Over Roche NimbleGen Support

Agilent also stated that its arrays can be read on NimbleGen scanners. Roche decided to stop production of its microarray products earlier this year (see IBO 6/15/12). Roche NimbleGen continues to offer its solution-based sequence capture technology for next-generation sequencing sample preparation.

Santa Clara, CA and Penzberg, Germany 11/7/12—Agilent Technologies will be the exclusive provider of continued services to Roche NimbleGen customers as Roche phases out its NimbleGen microarray production and services. Roche and Agilent announced that customers can transition to Agilent arrays with minimal disruption for all applications because of the technologies’ similarities. “Our field service personnel are working directly with individual researchers to help convert their NimbleGen designs, and they will continue to provide enhanced service and support throughout the transition period and beyond,” stated Robert Schueren, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Genomics Systems Division.
