DANI Buys Spectra Analysis
A DANI spokesperson told IBO that all 10 of SAI employees have joined DANI. She also stated, “Part of the manufacturing of the SAI product line will be moved in our manufacturing facility in Italy, and the SAI site is planned to become a demo laboratory and an R&D center of excellence.”
Boston, MA 1/12/15—GC and LC supplier DANI Instruments has acquired Spectra Analysis Instruments (SAI) for an undisclosed amount. SAI develops and manufactures solid-phase IR spectroscopy detectors for GC and LC instruments. With the acquisition, Italy-based DANI will open a US operation headquartered at SAI’s site in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and will sell directly in the US. “The addition of the Spectra Analysis portfolio of DiscovIR products to our DANI chromatographic platform will provide significant benefits to our clients in forensic and material-characterization laboratories,” commented DNA President Umberto Saini Fasanotti.
