Danaher Transfers Beckman Business to AB SCIEX
An AB SCIEX spokesperson told IBO that SCIEX Separations, the name of the company’s new separations unit, will also benefit from the CE business’s strong presence in biologics applications and both groups’ expertise in microscale separations. The CE business’s personnel will remain at their current locations.
Framingham, MA 7/10/13—AB SCIEX has taken over Beckman Coulter Life Sciences’ capillary electrophoresis (CE) business. Both companies are owned by Danaher. AB SCIEX’s Eksigent separations business, which provides LC systems, will manage the CE business. The transition includes personnel, technology and resources. “By integrating the Beckman Coulter CE team into the SCIEX separations business, we will be able to take CE and our chromatography solutions to a whole new level,” stated AB SCIEX President Rainer Blair. “We are committed to investing in our separations business for long-term success.” The alignment will extend technology leadership, synergies and market presence, according to AB SCIEX. By the end of the third quarter, the SCIEX Separations business will manage the CE products and integrated CE-MS technology. The CE products will remain branded as Beckman Coulter.
