Illumina Files Suit Against Life Technologies

In Life Technologies’ current infringement suit against Illumina involving the firms’ respective SOLiD and Genome Analyzer sequencers (see IBO 10/31/09), Illumina has alleged that the PGM infringed an additional patent.

San Diego, CA 12/27/11—Illumina has filed suit against Life Technologies alleging patent infringement of US Patent No. 7,060,431 entitled, “Method of Making and Decoding of Arrays Sensors with Microspheres,” by the Ion Personal Genome Machine (PGM) and Ion OneTouch System. Illumina is seeking a permanent injunction and damages. The suit was filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
