Konica Minolta Adds to Light-Measurement Offerings
Instruments Systems’ product lines include spectrometers, imaging photometers and colorimeters for lighting measurement, as well as complete LED-testing systems. These products will expand Konica Minolta Optics industrial sensing division‘s light measurement instrument business. Konica Minolta offers color and display management systems, 3D digitizers and medical measurement systems.
Munich, Germany 11/30/12; Tokyo, Japan 12/3/12—Konica Minolta Optics has acquired German firm Instrument Systems effective December 1 for an undisclosed amount. Instrument Systems provides LED light source and other lighting-related measurement systems based on spectroscopy. Headquartered in Munich with 99 employees, the company’s fiscal 2012 sales grew 26.8% to €30.3 million ($40.4 million = €0.75 = $1). “Together, we now cover all segments of display and light-source measurement and we are positioned as number one in this area,” stated Toshihiko Karasaki, president of Konica Minolta Optics. Instruments Systems Founder and President Richard Disti will remain with the company.
