Azure Biosystems launches their next generation of imaging systems for western blots and more

Dublin, Calif. – Azure Biosystems is excited to announce the launch of their next generation of western blot imagers, the Azure Imaging Systems, which are designed to make generating quantitative data from Western blots easier than ever.

Like the cSeries systems that they are replacing, the new Azure 200, 280, 300, 400, 500, and 600 Imaging Systems offer capabilities ranging from gel documentation to detection of chemiluminescence, NIR fluorescence, and visible fluorescence for western blots and more, and are easily upgraded to add new capabilities as a lab’s needs change. This new product line, however, features improvements aimed at helping researchers take their studies to the next level, whether it’s through multiplexing, being more rigorous in their quantitative data generation, or both. The software has been completely re-built with the user in mind and, through a combination of a larger touchscreen, more intuitive interface, and push-button workflows for quick and easy quantitative western blot data acquisition and analysis, users will get a simple and streamlined experience. In addition, the new system design includes a number of hardware improvements that enhance performance, including a larger 9MP CCD sensor that delivers highly sensitive quantitation.

The focus on quantitation extends to more than just software workflows. We are also introducing an optional Q Module, available for the Azure 300 and 500 Systems, which adds a 524 nm green detection channel for total protein normalization using AzureRed Fluorescent Total Protein Stain. As indicated by the “Q” in the name, the addition of the green channel enables quantitative chemiluminescent detection with the Azure 300Q, and quantitative, two-protein IR detection with the Azure 500Q.

“As scientific organizations and publishers are pushing tighter, more rigorous standards to ensure western blot reproducibility, we want to reduce the burden on the scientist,” says Lisa Isailovic, Vice President of Marketing at Azure Biosystems. “Which is why we’ve focused so strongly on making it easy to get reliable, quantitative western blot data. And even if a researcher doesn’t need quantitative data for a specific blot, they can have the confidence in their data that comes with using a high-performance imaging system.”

The new Azure Imaging System begins shipping October 1st 2019. For more information, you can contact [email protected].
