Sanigen Proclaims Partnership with Illumina in Meals Security and Microbiology Enterprise Improvement in South Korea
Seoul, South Korea – South Korea-based Sanigen has announced that it will become a regional distributor for Illumina, the world’s leading genome sequencing company.
The partners will work together to bring Illumina’s NGS platform technology to the food safety and microbiology sectors in South Korea.
Sanigen is a company specializing in food safety South Korea and serves the market with PCR kits and NGS panels. Sanigen also provides NGS (sample preparation, sequencing and bioinformatics) analysis services for customer samples based on its established database of foodborne pathogens.
Together with Illumina, Sanigen is developing NGS panels that can quickly detect 16 types of foodborne pathogens from around 400 samples. The panels will be available in the third quarter of 2021.
The companies believe the partnership will accelerate the application of NGS technology to the food safety market and improve the level of safety. “NGS offers the grocery market an unprecedented opportunity to improve safety.
