Construction of a new production building at Sayama Technical Center

Purpose and background of construction of new production building.
Under our current medium-term management plan (fiscal 2019 to fiscal 2021), we have been promoting the maintenance andsuccession of core technologies and efforts for new technologies with the aim of returning to production under the slogan “AdvancedManufacturing.” Under the new medium-term management plan (fiscal 2022 to fiscal 2024), we will further collaborate with thedevelopment, production engineering, and manufacturing divisions to strengthen quality and price competitiveness and expandproduction by improving production efficiency through DX.
Therefore, we will renovate the aged buildings that has been around for more than 50 years at the Sayama Technical Center, andconstruct a new production building adjacent to the Development Technology Center, thereby establishing a mother factory functionthat enables the speed from the development of new products to mass production. In addition, the new production building will betransferred and integrated with the design and manufacturing function of the applied analytical analyzer, which will be carried out bythe Tokyo Engineering Center (Higahshiyamato City, Tokyo), another production base in the metropolitan area, to accelerate thesupply of products in accordance with customer needs. Furthermore, as a highly functional logistics base, we will strengthen oursystem for immediate delivery of productions and parts that respond to after-sales service and e-commerce.
The new production building aims at net-zero energy buildings (ZEBs) for the realization of a decarbonization community.
